You will be picked up from your hotel and head off to Kandy and en route you have a chance to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and mingle with the elephants there. Established in 1975, Pinnawala elephant orphanage is a breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. The aim of the orphanage is to protect and care for the orphaned elephants in the jungles of the island. A natural habitat is presented to the elephants where they are taken to the river twice a day and elephants below three years are bottle fed by volunteers.
Then we will take you to visit the Kandy tea factory. Sri Lanka, as one of the world’s largest producers of tea, plays a vastly important role in this history and there’s a high chance that the tea you drink back home begins its life in Sri Lanka. Take a tour through this little factory to learn about the time-consuming production of tea and marvel at heavy machinery left over from British rule at the time of the Industrial Revolution. You will finish off the tour with a tea tasting.
The Botanical Gardens in Kandy are renowned for their beautiful flowers and trees; orchids in particular. The name Royal comes in because they were once upon a time only open to the Kandyan royalty. With 60 hectares of land, covering 2500 square feet, this is Sri Lanka’s largest and most impressive Botanical Gardens.
Checking at your hotel in Kandy.
Evening you will be taken to enjoy a cultural dance show at Kandy lake club. The Kandy Lake Club Cultural Dance Show is a stimulating Sri Lankan Arts, Dance & Cultural Heritage Show that is a must see for any visitor who visits the historic city of Kandy
Then finally we will take you to visit the Temple of the tooth during the eveining ceromoney time. veryday there are ceremonies (at 6am, 10am and 6pm) during which the tooth, kept in an ostentatious golden case, is taken out of its chamber for devout Buddhists to see. Offerings of flowers are laid before the sacred tooth’s chamber, prayers fill the room, and drummers fill the air with rhythmic song. People line up for the chance to catch a glimpse the golden case up close. While the room is sticky with sweat and humidity and the space is tight with both devotees and tourists, it is worth every second of your time. You really get a feel for the ritual, the tradition, and the importance of this place
Next day after breakfast, you will be taken to visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site). En route visit a spice garden & a hindu temple in Mathale
Then you will visit the ‘Lion’s Rock’ in Sigiriya – approximately 1200 steps to climb. This rock climbing activity is do-able and recommended for most tourists as you get to see some beautiful engraved frescoes of the ancient era and also the remnants of a fortress at the top of the rock, not forgetting the tremendous view from the summit.
Finally you will visit Dambulla cave temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. Most imprtantly dambulla cave tample and Sigiriya rock are UNESCO world heritage sites.

Amazing trips with Tony tours
We had great trips as a family of 4 adults and 2 children. I got in contact with Tony tours after reading brilliant reviews on here and we highly recommend.Tony was very prompt and polite in reply to messages and we booked a day tour to undawalawe and a 2 day tour to kandy and sigiriya. They were brilliantly organised and having your own vehicle and driver was ideal. The prices were very good and the children were tired after going to undawalawe so didn't feel like doing the river cruise on the way home so we decided to leave it out but Tony came and picked us up on a different afternoon so we could do it at no charge a wonderful gesture. The list of the little things they do to make your trips the best they can be would be endless I can't recommend highly enough thanks to the whole team.
