Start your adventure with an early-morning safari at Yala National Park, Sri Lanka’s second largest and most popular national park. Yala is renowned for its incredible biodiversity, featuring animals such as leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and crocodiles. The park spans 979 square kilometers and offers varied landscapes, including dense jungles, coastal scrubland, grasslands, and lagoons. Yala is also home to more than 200 species of birds, including migratory ones, making it a haven for bird watchers. Your safari will take you through different ecosystems, offering a thrilling opportunity to observe animals in their natural habitat.
RAVANA WATERFALL
After your safari, head to the tranquil hill town of Ella, known for its dramatic landscapes and lush greenery. On the way, stop at Ravana Waterfall, one of the most picturesque and famous waterfalls in Sri Lanka. This stunning 25-meter-high cascade is named after the mythical king Ravana from the Indian epic Ramayana. The waterfall is surrounded by a lush jungle and offers a perfect spot for photos, picnics, and relaxation.
NINE ARCH BRIDGE
In the afternoon, visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, located near the Demodara Railway Station. This magnificent bridge, built during British colonial rule, is a remarkable feat of engineering with nine arches that span a deep valley surrounded by lush greenery. The bridge is especially famous for its location within the tea plantation landscape, making it one of the most photographed spots in Sri Lanka. If you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of a train passing over the bridge.

The hike is relatively easy, and the summit rewards you with a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding tea plantations, waterfalls, and rolling hills.
