Sigiriya Day Tour from Ahungalla,Sigiriya Day Tour with Dambulla From Riu Sri Lanka & Heritance Ahungalla Hotels.

Admiring any UNESCO World Heritage Site is a treat. But seeing two in one day is positively spoiling yourself. This history-rich tour takes in two of Sri Lanka's standout sites – the Lion Rock of Sigirya and the Dambulla Rock Temple.

First up is the Lion Rock of Sigiriya – Asia's answer to Machu Picchu. Rising 200 metres above the jungle, it boasts ancient frescoes, terraced gardens and stunning views. Climb the stairs cut directly into the rock, and feel like Indiana Jones as you pass through the impressive lion-shaped gateway to explore the ruins of a 5th Century royal palace.

After wounderful village tour in sigiriya with lunch, it's on to your second UNESCO-listed site at the Dambulla Rock Temple – a sacred Buddhist cave carved deep into the mountain. Decorated with over 150 frescoes and huge statues of Buddha and other deities, it makes for a show-stopping end to your trip.

Galle Day Trip and Sigiriya Rock

We booked the Galle day trip with Tony for six people and the Sigiriya Rock tri for two people during our week at Rio Sri Lanka. The trips were much cheaper than the tours organised by the hotels and private so we were the only ones there. For both trips, Tony arrived early and the transport was air conditioned and comfortable.

During our Galle trip, Tony stopped at additional sites to show us new things (such as the Tsunami memorial and the stilt fishing) and also bought us all coconuts which was a lovely touch. He stayed with us throughout the trip and explained lots of facts and sites to us

Although the trip to Sigiriya was an early start, it was well worth it and Tony stopped at different areas after the climb so we could see the rock from all angles. Again, we were given coconuts and the option to have breakfast and lunch during the long journeys.

Tony has fantastic knowledge of Sri Lanka and is highly organised with his tours. We would definitely recommend booking through him.
